Project 1# Temperature

In this lab, students will use methodologies outlined in previously labs to design and implement their own measurement system to achieve a specific requirement. Students will select which sensor to use, how signal conditioning can impact the measurement, determine the ADC sampling rate and then what acquisition techniques and how analyze the data. They combine all these elements in their design and test and test it to see if it meets the requirements.

After completing this lab, students will be able to:
  1. Explain how voltage change and temperature rise are related.
  2. Discuss the relationship between resistance and temperature.
  3. Analyze results of a measurement need and explain how sensor characteristics impact the measurement.

  • Basic proficiency using Multisim Live
  • Basic proficiency using ELVIS III Instruments
  • Basic knowledge of breadboarding
  • Basic knowledge of components and their behaviors
