Measurement Software and Analysis

In this lab, students will complete activities in data acquisition, including storing, analyzing and presenting data on a PC. They will learn how to extract information from the input signal using methods such as Fourier Transforms and statistics, so that the data can be presented and interpreted more easily.
This is lab 4 of 10 in the course, Student Projects for Measurements and Instrumentation.


After completing this lab, students will be able to:
  1. Discuss common signal processing techniques, including frequency, level, and statistical analyses.
  2. Implement techniques for data visualization and storage.
  3. Discuss and compare the applications and use cases of inline, real-time processing and offline processing.
  4. Choose the correct way to analyze data, then draw conclusions based on their analysis, given an acquired data set.
