Quanser QNET Mechatronics Interfacing Add-on Board.
This lab introduces students to fundamentals of microcontroller I/O and inter-communication including industry standards, such as SPI, I²C and CAN buses. Students learn how to control a microcontroller at the register level and build controllers to interact with sensors, communication networks and human interface devices. The labs contain reference material for the topic and in-lab exercises.

Students learn SPI protocol, data busses and chip select lines, microcontroller SPI module functionality, data clocks, and device registers.
Students cover topics of reading data via SPI, device registers, flash memory, RAM, and volatile versus non-volatile memory.
Students cover topics of I2C protocol, half-duplex serial communication, microcontroller I2C module functionality, data clocks, and device registers.
Students cover topics of controller area networks, message-based protocols, serial message structure, and network structure.
Students cover topics of LCD technology, image data, image manipulation, and image processing and analysis.
