In this lab, the energy system components explored in the previous labs are combined to form more complex power systems. For both wind power generation and DC power supply applications, students complete activities to analyze the interactions of electrical components and efficiencies of the systems.

This is lab 4 of 4 in the course, Energy Systems Analysis.


After completing this lab, students will be able to:
  1. Describe the structure of common power systems.
  2. Explain the interactions between power system components.
  3. Calculate the efficiency of power systems.
  4. Describe the design considerations unique to various power systems.
  5. Identify how power systems may interact as part of larger grids.


  • Introduction to Physics or equivalent
  • Circuits 1 or equivalent

  • Basic LabVIEW Proficiency
