Vibration Measurement Project

In this project, students will use methodologies outlined in the previous labs to design and implement their own vibration measurement system for a given measurement need. Students will determine the right sensor, signal conditioning circuit, ADC sampling, software approach, and analysis methods for the given measurement scenario. Once they complete the design, students will build and iterate on the measurement system and verify that the requirements were met.

This is lab 8 of 10 in the course, Student Projects for Measurements and Instrumentation.

After completing this project, students will be able to:
  1. Explain signal and sensor characteristics for a given vibration measurement scenario.
  2. Design and implement a signal conditioning circuit for a vibration sensor measurement.
  3. Discuss data acquisition resolution and sampling rate.
  4. Implement a vibration measurement and analyze a measured vibration signal.
