Encoders and Decoders

This lab introduces students to the fundamentals of encoders and decoders. Students complete activities in which they use Multisim to build and simulate circuits, including a binary-coded decimal to seven segment display decoder and a priority encoder. Students complete analysis to derive truth tables and complete assessments.

  2. Create a circuit with a BCD to Seven Segment Display Secoder and verify its truth table

  • Digilent Hardware Driver (note, the installer above automatically downloads the installer below onto your computer)
    • Navigate to C:\NIFPGA\programs\Vivado2014_4\data\xicom\cable_drivers\nt64\digilent
    • Install install_digilent.exe
