If you are registered for a VILT course, please use the information below to make sure you have everything set-up prior to the start of your course.
- Connect to the Zoom Test Meeting Room
- Before your event, please connect to the Zoom’s Test Meeting Room to verify connection, bandwidth availability & ensure the latest add-in is installed. If you are unable to install the add-in, the web client can be used. Details on this process can be found here.
- On the day of the course, you will access your course resources using the registration link provided via email. The course resources will include the link for the virtual classroom, where you will interact with the instructor.
- Set up your account in the NI Online Learning Platform
- Ensure that you have created an ni.com web account here.
- Follow the registration instructions in the pre-course email that you received on week prior to the event date to access the course resources.
- After registration you can navigate to the Learner Dashboard and log in with your ni.com account.
- The course manual and other digital resources will be accessed from our online learning platform.
These materials will become available one business day before the course starts. In the meantime, please confirm that you can access the dashboard.
If you are unable to access the dashboard, please contact our technical representatives for your region AMER | APAC | EMEA so we can facilitate any necessary troubleshooting before the course start date.
- Install NI's Remote Lab (LogMeIn)
During the exercises, you will have the opportunity to log into the Education
Services remote lab where a virtual machine has been assigned. This VM will
contain the latest versions of the required software necessary to complete the
exercises.
Notes:
- If your IT restrictions are to the level where LogMeIn’s website will not open, we suggest you work with your local IT to ensure you can connect to the LogMeIn servers, take the course from a personal computer using a public network, or perform the exercises on your local drive pending the required software is loaded.
- You are not required to use the Education Services Remote Lab if the latest version of the required software is already installed locally on your computer.
- You can use your preferred browser and operating system while still maintaining a secure and reliable connection to our remote lab. Your instructor will provide instructions on using LogMeIn prior to your first exercise.
- A plug-in must be downloaded to access the remote machines! If your organization prevents downloads, please consider using a guest network, request to enable downloads, taking the course from home, etc.
- If you download/save exercises or course materials into the virtual computer, please make sure you save it to your device before the course ends. We reimage the computers after each course for the upcoming week.
